After a week off for the senior mens sides, this coming weekend provides an opportunity for players to get in one of the last two matches in before the end of the year.

The 1st XV will be keen to put the heavy defeat away at Trowbridge behind them as they host Bath based Walcot on Saturday for a 2.15pm Kick Off.  Walcot have had a relatively poor start to the season with 2 wins and 7 defeats which has seen them move to 9th placed in the league.  Devizes' defeat at Trowbridge two weeks ago was their third of the season, after falling against Sherborne and Swindon College Old Boys, and will be motivated to put in a big performance in front of a bumper pre-Christmas crowd.  Buoyed on by a pre-match VP's lunch, the lads will be looking to get their sixth win of the campaign.  It won't be easy.  Walcot travel to the Chivers Ground having won the last two meetings at Devizes RFC and will be looking to make it a third year in a row.  Coincidentally, Devizes tend to fair well up at Walcot with two wins away from home in recent meetings.

The 2nd XV will be looking to build on their excellent win over Royal Wootton Basett 3s as they head to the outskirts of Bath to face Colerne on the top of the hill.  Devizes sides have had some great battles against Colerne over the years, in what is traditionally a really tough place to play up on top of the hill, especially in poor weather conditions.  2.15pm Kick Off for that one.

Our 3rd XV will be looking to get a side out against Warminster 2s, Kick off is also 2.15pm and up on the top pitch in our second home game of the afternoon.  Please come along and bring your boots if you are able to have a runout - there will be game time available!

Then on Sunday, it's the Ladies turn to play their final fixture of 2017, in a year that has provided them with lots of ups and downs, including promotion in April and a couple of excellent wins in this higher league.  Exeter based Topsham arrive having defeated Devizes narrowly earlier this season, therefore this is one that our Ladies will be hoping to target to go into 2018 on a high. 2pm Kick Off.

All support is very welcome for all games - for those games at home, to re-emphasise, entry is FREE.  Come on up and support your local rugby club either by playing or watching on the sidelines!
