The Ladies team will be playing in their highest ever league for the 2017/2018 season and will face tough adversaries in the form of St Mary's Old Boys, Weston Hornets and Chipping Sodbury. The Ladies section is open to all Adult Ladies who are looking to get back to playing rugby or start playing rugby. No matter your age, size, experience or level of fitness, please come along and try out playing rugby with our Ladies. Last season the Ladies had their most successful season yet finishing in 2nd place in the league, acquiring over 30 players in their squad and hosting their first ever VP's lunch! The Ladies will be aiming to go one better this season, consolidating their position in a higher league.
Training takes place at the rugby club every Wednesday evening from 7pm.
The club runs three senior mens' sides with our 3rd XV catering those getting back into rugby, beginners and also former 1st and 2nd XV players. The 3rd XV currently play at level 10 in Dorset & Wilts North3 and has a great social vibe to it, so if you're looking to get back into rugby from a social perspective come along to the club!
Our 2nd XV play at level nine in Dorset & Wilts North 2 against local 1st XV rivals Calne, Cricklade and other 2nd XV's such as Melksham 2s. The 2nd XV is more for aspiring 1st XV players, development of younger players and also 1st XV squad players in need of fitness and form. The 2nd XV also have a good social vibe, but due to the nature of their league take things a bit more seriously than our 3rd XV.
Our flagship team, the Saddlebacks (or 1st XV) will be playing in Southern Counties South for the 2017/2018 season against adversaries such as North Dorset, Trowbridge, Swanage & Wareham and Frome. If you are a local player and fancy a challenge or have recently moved to the area, then please get in touch! The Saddlebacks will be looking to build since our relegation from South West 1 East three seasons ago.
Training continues throughout the season on Tuesdays and Thursday nights from 7pm at the rugby club. From 6.30pm on both nights there is a dedicated physio for senior members to review recovery of injuries and discuss treatment plans accordingly.
