Devizes RFC

Devizes RFC is saddened to share the news that former player George Bevan passed away last Saturday.

George was an enthusiastic and committed member of the club throughout the 1970s and 1980s. During his time with us he made several appearances for the 1st XV, and his dedication, leadership, and love of the sport were clear to all who played alongside him. He was also proud to serve as captain of the 3rd XV for a season, a role in which he brought great spirit, humour, and camaraderie.

George was a popular figure on and off the pitch, and many will remember him fondly for his contributions on tour—most notably the club trips to Alençon and Uden, where he was at the heart of the team’s traditions and stories.

George will be greatly missed by his friends, former teammates, and everyone at Devizes RFC. We extend our deepest sympathies to his family and loved ones at this difficult time.
