Job Title: Lead Coach for Senior Men’s 2nd XV

Location: Devizes RFC

About Us: Devizes RFC is seeking a motivated individual to join our highly talented senior men’s coaching team. This role is perfect for someone looking to gain experience in coaching and develop their skillset within a dynamic and supportive environment.

Main Duties:

• Collaborate with all senior coaches, including the Colts coaching team.
• Partner closely with the 2nd XV Team Manager on selection and player commitment to mid-week training sessions.
• Provide input and insight to the Senior Men’s coaching team on player performance, areas for improvement, and identify areas to work on in mid-week training sessions.
• Support the Colts coaching team and Senior Men’s coaching team with a pathway for Colts players into playing senior, adult rugby.
• Adhere to the club's coaching and playing style and philosophy.
• Assist the senior men’s management and coaching team in developing a recruitment and retention program.

Match Day Responsibilities:

• Prepare the 2nd XV squad for matches, primarily on Saturday afternoons from September through to April.
• Lead the match day warm-up.
• Provide coaching and tactical insight during the match, at half-time, and full-time.
• Report back to the Senior Men’s coaching team on team performance.
• Elevate player pathways to develop and build squad depth for the 1st XV.

Skills & Experience:

• Hold a level 2 coaching qualification in rugby (desirable but not essential).
• Previous successful delivery of sports coaching, training, or schools’ programs.
• Experience in developing and motivating young people.
• First-class communication and facilitation skills.
• Demonstrable ability to steward partnerships or client relationships.
• Ability to travel to 2nd XV away fixtures (largely within Wiltshire, no more than 1 hour each way commute time).
