It is with great sadness that we share the news of the tragic passing of our friend and teammate, Alex Daines, following a motorbike accident last weekend.
Alex had been a valued member of our club for the past five years and was a regular in our 2nd XV. An industrious back rower, he gave everything for the team every time he pulled on the Devizes shirt. His commitment, determination and selflessness on the pitch earned the respect of everyone who had the privilege of playing alongside him.
On behalf of everyone at Devizes RFC, we extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to Alex’s wife and children, his wider family, friends and loved ones at this incredibly difficult time. Our thoughts are also with all of his teammates and everyone who knew him.
Alex will be greatly missed by all at the club and fondly remembered for the commitment, friendship and spirit he brought to Devizes RFC. Funeral details will be shared in due course.
