Today the Men's league structure for the 2020/2021 league season has been announced with Devizes 1st XV and Development Squads retaining their place at level 7 in Southern Counties South and at level 9, in Dorset & Wilts North 2 respectively.
Providing the season kicks off as planned in September (fixtures will be confirmed and released by South West rugby in the coming weeks) the 1st XV can look forward to fixtures against old foes Salisbury and Wimborne, who have spent the last few seasons in South West 1 East before their relegation last season. Avonvale and Dorchester have also been promoted from Dorset & Wilts 1 to complete the make up of the league, with Thatcham shifting over to Southern Counties North.
A slight restructure at level 9 with the Dorset & Wilts 2 leagues being shifted to 3 leagues of 9 teams, the Development Squad are in a league with the likes of Colerne, Pewsey Vale, Supermarine, as well as other 2nd and 3rd teams from across the county.
More news will be announced in the coming weeks. The club (and indeed the rugby community) is waiting to hear from the RFU on next steps in line with government guidance as to when a return to play will be confirmed.
