After 3 years in position Chris Dyer has decided to step down as Chair.
Chris recently discovered that being Chair over the three seasons of pandemic (2019-2022) had slowly crept up on him, and without realising it had taken a toll on his health, both physical and mental.
So, after reflecting on advice from the medics he has decided it's the right time to step down, a year earlier than he intended. He’s planning to take a complete break, effective immediately, for the first time since 2008, and hopes to be back to full health as soon as possible.
He also says that he's been humbled by the way people from around the club have reacted - from those who have encountered similar issues, and from those who have provided much-needed support and advice. “It's times like these that you realise there really is a rugby family - and it’s definitely #time2talk."
We are sad to see Chris step back but on behalf of everyone at DRFC, we thank him for his commitment and wish him a speedy recovery.
